And relax…….

Well, I did it – 10 talks/presentations in 8 cities in 17 days.  It was a fantastic experience, sometimes a little tiring but overall really rewarding.

Firstly, I’d like to thank Leigh-Chantelle (Brisbane) for organising all of the venues, timings, and all those other things so necessary to bring together a series of talks in different locations.  Secondly, I have to thank my wife for supporting me during the whole process, for putting leaflets on seats, collecting donations and, importantly, for putting up with hearing the same talk 10 times.  Thanks to her comments and suggestions the content of my presentation was tweaked and refined each time.

Finally, I need to thank everyone who came to the presentations.  It is always a nervous moment when one reaches the end of a presentation in case there is a stony silence from the audience and no one wants to ask questions.  Thankfully, at all of the talks there was hardly even a pause before people starting asking questions about different aspects of my presentation.

So, what was it all about?

What I wanted to do was to give everyone an understanding of how the banking, investment and Superfund industries work and how much they are responsible for the abuse and exploitation of animals, people and our environment.  The banking and investment industries are directly responsible for the financing of so much abuse that the vast majority of people would be quite shocked.  If these institutions were financing this abuse with their own money it would be bad enough, but this is far from the case.  What they are doing is using the savings and investments of individual Australians to carry out the abuse – and hardly anyone knows that this is happening.

What I personally find so frustrating is where individuals are putting their heart and soul into campaigning against companies and then unknowingly financing the same companies with their bank accounts, savings and Superfunds.  As long as this goes on, the companies will continue to take the money and keep doing what they do.  The individuals will continue to campaign and protest but they will also continue to hand their money over to the banks, investment and Superfund companies without making this vital connection.

It is time for everyone with a social conscience to stand up, take back control of their money and stop it being used to harm and exploit.

What if you missed one of the talks?

In the next few weeks I plan to put a copy of the presentation on this site, together with a voice over track.  It is vital that as many people as possible understand what is being done with their money and tell others as well.  Please come back to this site regularly to check for the upload.

Hello and thanks a lot for this information,

we had been searching quite some time now for ethical investments. Unfortunately almost all “ethical” funds do not rule out the use of animals for food – they will even support it if the slaughter is organic. ;-)

    Greetings from Germany
